    E-Mail Setup: Netscape 6/Mozilla

Detailed below are instructions on how to set up Netscape 6/Mozilla for use with your Gold Vision Communications / MicroRack mail service.

    1. Open Netscape, and open the mail client by selecting "Mail" from the "Tasks" menu. At this point, it should bring up a "New Account Setup" wizard if you haven't set up the mail client before. If it does, then skip to step 3.

    2. From the "Edit" menu of the mail client select "Mail/News Account Settings", and click the "New Account" button on the window that comes up.

    3. Select "ISP or email provider" as show below, and click the "Next" button.

    4. In the "Your Name" and "Email Address" fields, enter the name and e-mail address you would like to be displayed on messages you send from Netscape, then click the "Next" button.

    5. Select "POP", and enter your domain name in both "Server Name" fields as shown below, then click the "Next" button.

    6. Enter your login name in the "User Name" field, then click the "Next" button.

    7. In the account name enter something like your domain name. This is simply an identifier for the account within Netscape and can be pretty much whatever you want. After this, click the "Next" button, then click the "Finish" button.

For spam protection we use a function called "POP before SMTP". Whenever you log in for POP3 mail, the server notes the IP address from which the connection was made, and permits SMTP from the IP for a limited time. This simply means: first check for new mail before sending.
